Dear Logan County, Virginia Genealogist, Thanks to Joel Hager and everyone else who responded to my email on Mary Jane ELLIS. Not sure that I would have ever found the relationship. I really do appreciate the guidance. Looks like Mary Jane ELLIS was married before she married Luke Curry OR she had an affair outside the bonds of matrimony. I guess things never change. In the 1870 Census Mary Jane ELLIS is listed as a child of Anderson ELLIS and Judith (DEBORD). Louisa is listed as being 2 years old. I am sure that this Louisa is the who married Lewis Allen "Jay" VANCE. Following are the Census Records for Anderson Ellis & Luke Curry! Can anyone add information? In 1900 Luke is with his new wife Prissa. Thanks for that information. Looks like Anderson ELLIS and Luke CURRY lived a long time! I have used my own estimates which are more sensible than those wild ranges from family tree maker-the ones where someone died the year after they are born even though they have ten kids...
