His first wife was Mary _____ [I would love to know her surname]. All of William's children were born to Mary ___. William White Sr. married 2nd Ann Bailey, widow of James Bailey. Children of William White Sr and Mary ___ were; 1. John [Rev War soldier] born 1753 md Ann Bailey- [dau. of James and Ann Bailey] 2. Elizabeth b ca 1754 md Feb 28, 1786 Fauq. Co VA to James Bailey [I believe this James to be son of Carr Bailey Sr.] 3. William Jr. b Jan 10, 1755 [Rev War soldier S1735VA] died May 6, 1833 Lincoln Co TN, md 1st ___?, children?, married 2nd Elizabeth ___ born 1775 NC. 4 ch. Sarah b ca 1768 md Aug 25, 1789 George Roach, they lived in Prince William Co VA at least from 1804-1816. 8. Carr b ca 1777, md Feb. 19, 1795 Fauq Co VA to Nancy Donaldson, dau. of John When William White Sr died ca Oct 1804, his son William White Jr was living on Reedy Creek, old Rowan Co NC and his dau. Sarah Roach was living in Prince William Co VA. All of his other children were living in Mason Co KY and sent legal authorizations back to George Roach was was acting as administrator of his father in law's property. William White's neighbor, William Hunton and George Roach did an appraisal of William White's property in Oct 1804. George Roach sold the land to William Hunton in May 1816. William White Sr's estate was not completely settled until 1825. His widow, Ann [Bailey] White did not want to record his will and disputed whether he was on sound mind when he wrote it. William White's son, John White, married Ann's daughter, Ann Bailey. John acted in his former step mother's behalf at court sessions. When I first read the court papers, I thought John married his step mother. Upon more careful reading of the old document, I see that John married his step mother's child by her first marriage, Ann Bailey. Waddell notes I found; Fauquier Co VA, Will Book 21, b 134; John Waddell, will dated April 21, 1788, probtated 23 June 1788. Indenture: John Waddell purchased land Oct 14, 1762. Purchased of William Writght and Mary his wife in 1759 [60 acres] in Fauquier Co Virginia. Indenture: John Waddell and Betty {Elizabeth] his wife, sell 60 acres formerly owned by William Wright. Indenture; John Waddell appointed surpervisor of roads, November Court, 1764. Indenture; Oct. 27, 1767, John Waddell purchases 375 acres of John Ball- teh land was formerly in Prince William County, now Fauqueir Co VA. This story from The Kansas City Star, Nov 22, 1942. "The Silent Partner" The stage firm of Russell, Majors and Waddell, early pioneer firm, competitors of the Butterfield and Wells Fargo lines. They lost prestige in the Civil War after throwing in their resoueces on the side of the South. The Waddell of the firm was William Bradford Waddell, born 14 Oct 1807 in Fauquier Co VA. "The story of William Waddell, goes back to Virginia. His grandfather came to America from Glascow, Scotland and his middle name, Bradford, was given from the fact that on his maternal side, he descended from that Governor Bradford of Plymouth Colony". Waddell was born in Fauquier Co Virginia. He lost his mother when he was only 4 years old and his fatehr moved out to Mason Co KY after marrying a second time. ** Below information was given to me over the years and I have not proven any of it.
