I'm a Holtzclaw/Otterbach descendant and we have a Withers, Mauzy, Duncan connection, too. There is one in particular that BC Holtzclaw writes about, John or James Withers Payne, the husband of Elizabeth Holtzclaw b. 1821, Elizabeth is the daughter of Charles Holtzclaw and Clement Welch. John or James Withers Payne is the daughter of Francis Payne, Jr and his wife, Patsy Withers, but I don't have any more info about Patsy. One of my Holtzclaw cousins is a descendant and I'll see what she has. Barb Price
