Not related just passing on information According to information that I found, James Pede Marshall died Oct. 1826 in Frederick Co.. He was married to Susannah Orear [born 5/27/1781 and died 12/1/1868 in Clarke Co., Va. married 11/25/26, 1801] Their children were: George, Benjamin, AMelia born between 1799 & 1822 John born 9/25/1807 and died in Clarked Co. July 1895, his wife was Elizabeth who died April 1874 in Frederick Co., Va. Joannah born March 22, 1809 Melinda born May 26/ 1815 Sarah born about 1823 married William A. Jackson Susan (Isanna) born May 17, 1824 and died June 1921 in Frederick Co., Va, it stated that Susan was married to Balthorpe [could be wrong] Eliza born February 12, 1826 I have no proof of the above information that was submitted to the Family Tree Maker Archives. On my Virginia marriage records I found ELizabeth Marshall married Napoleon B. Balthrope Dec. 12, 1833 in Frederick Co., Va. This family was on the Clarke Co., Va 1850 census, page 176. Betsy is a aka: for ELizabeth July 23, 1850 Census Household#106 Napoleon Balthrope age 44 Farmer [entire family born in Virginia] Elizabeth 39 John W. 14 James M. 13 Benjamin L or T. 11 George R. 10 Thomas S. 8 Cornelia 9 Sarah F. 7 Susan E. 5 Mary A. 1 This household lived just 3rd household away Household# 109 George Orear age 55 Farmer Catherine 52 Harriet 27 Mary E. 17 Susan C. 12 Thought maybe this could be the brother of Susannah Orear who married James Pede Marshall. Also Sept 1850 Charlotte, Va. Charlotte Division Household #698 page 46 James P. Marshall age 57 occupation Planter ELizabeth 55 Nannie 36 Joel N. Merchant Thomas 22 Schoolmaster Lucy 15 Benjamin W. 12 Richard W. Gaines 38 Physician Sarah C. Gaines 28 Benjamin M. Masdey 12 Sorry for the messy email.
