The clerk advised him that the records were destroyed from fire some time between 1861 and 1865. William's real estate was assessed in March 1865, December 1865, and February 1866. My cousin gives 1865 as an approximate date of William's death. The children were orphaned in 1870 by two different families: Feagins and Flynn.
