"He [another Daniel] is the son of Daniel Shumate and Mary "Unknown" - NOT Sarah Ann James. Daniel didn't marry Sarah Ann James until after Mary died - and after all his children were born. Sarah Ann James was previously married to Peter Cornwell. Daniel had NO children with Sarah Ann James Cornwell. Molly Shumate writes, "These children that are listed are by Daniel's first wife who is unknown.
