>From my Shoemaker book on pg. 387 is the following The estate of Michael Watson, deceased, of 96 District (probably Abbeyville County) set aside 8 pounds, 7 shillings, in 1774, for Daniel Shoemate, indentured boy, who had run away. It does not appear that money would have been reserved for an indentured boy run away, unless there was some relationship involved. The "Shumate Family History" would indicate that Daniel Shumate Sr. lived in South Carolina for a period. I couldn't find a Duanna Shumate and here is the list of Shumate's mentioned. Catherine, Clara A., Cynthia, Daniel, Daniel Sr., Edie, Eliza, Flora B., George, G. William, Henry, James, John, John B., John de la, Joseph, Joseph D., Lettice (Letitia), Lucinda, Mason, Nimrod, Patty, Robert J., Sampson, Samuel, Sarah, Stephen, Thomas, Toliver, William. Seems a good thought would be to see if you can find if you don't all ready have it "The Shumate Family History". I did find my Shoemaker's in the book "Shoemaker Pioneers" Good luck, Tootsie Shoemaker T. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amanda E.
