    3. Tim----Thank you so much for scanning this in. I read through the pension, without having any connection to the Thayer family (just because I love reading these old documents, and never know when I might discover something new), and may have inadvertently discovered a family link for a cousin of mine through another line. On the Thayer5.jpg, there is a letter explaining the drowning death of Mary Thayer as she was crossing from Edward's Ferry to Leesburg. The note then goes on to say that "she left an only child Mrs. Francis Beach." I've worked on my cousin's family, which brickwalled at "Lydia" wife of Francis "Frank" Beach. Lydia was born around 1820, and she and Francis Beach had three children that I know of: Ferdinand, Jane and George. They lived in and around Fairfax, Fauquier and Prince William Counties. Ferdinand married Jane Catharine Anderson, Jane married Albert F. Corum (my cousin's line) and George married Albenia Tharpe. This Francis Beach is the only one I know of living in this area during this time period; does anyone know if it's possible that his wife Lydia is indeed Lydia Thayer, the daughter of Mary Evans and William Thayer? Thank you again, Tim, for this unexpected new possibility in tracing this line. 3. Wow Lori that is great news that you found a possible link to your research. I also read the pension images but was not so lucky. It just goes to show you how information can turn up in such unexpected places. Thanks to this wonderful website we all benefit. 3. Lori is very lucky. I read the entire document hoping to find mention of an ancestor too, but was not as fortunate. Tim has done many of us a huge favor by posting the pension images. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this website. Happy holidays everyone!
