OK - it is confusing because of the several Williams. "My" William is the one who married Lavinia Bronnen - daughter Rebecca married John Smith. Rebecca's siblings were William (b. 1754), Mary, Randolph, Elizabeth. The father of William who married Lavinia was also a William, but he would probably be too old to have been the one in the suit.
