Those of you interested in some First Germanna Colonists of 1714 ancestry may be interested to learn of some of the Revolutionary War activities involving one Tilman Camper [Kemper] and some information about his widow, the former Diana [sometimes spelled Deniah] Hitt, formerly of Fauquier Co., VA and later of Fayette Co., Kentucky. Oh, yes, in the book following the abstract of the pension claim of Camper and that of his widow is the pension claim [abstracted] of one Coons. There may be others from Germanna colonies, but I was not searching for them. Of course, if you have HeritageQuest, you may find the actual image of the pension claim on HeritageQuest, of which see below. The information appears in a digitized book, information given below, which appears on the online genealogical database called HeritageQuest, available through many public libraries who subscribe. (If you do not know whether your local library or a nearby public library subscribes, confer with your reference librarian. Some tell me they have been able to buy an annual membership at a nearby library and can access this database at their home computer. Genealogists have to learn to ask LOTS of questions.) The name of the digitized book (search under the heading Books): Burns, Annie Walker Revolutionary War pensions of soldiers who settled in Fayette County Washington, DC: Unknown, 1936, 122 pgs. A good many of the First Germanna descendants migrated to early Kentucky. >From Kentucky, descendants went everywhere!!! Also, in Fayette Co. are wills of Henry Camper [Kemper], written 24 Nov 1792, probated Jan 1793; and of his widow Letitia Camper written 4 Mar 1812 and proved May 1812. These abstracts may also be on HeritageQuest, but I have not finished my quest!!! By the way, Fayette Co. divided into a good many other counties, so if you have lost your family, look in adjoining counties.
