HI, You do know don't you? that not all listed as Free African Americans were! Some were other races such as Native Americans. Nelda; Doesn't matter to me what nationality they actually were. I was searching for surnames that were in Virginia at a very early date. Those interested in a particular surname can locate birth places of those of interest on their own. Notice the title of the article I submitted stated they were " Free African Americans".
