Hi Everyone~ I found something that I thought cute to share….Wanted everyone to get the right idea on what is said with this expression “gossip” or “gossop”……. It was recorded in a family Bible. Each  children’s name was listed along with their birth date and a dash following was the word "Gossop" listed along with several adult names. These adults were  sponsors.   Webster’s Dictionary of 1886 defines a gossip:  “A sponsor; one who answers for a child in baptism”. Another new term for some of us.  LOL!!!
