You are so thoughtful, June, I should have explained better in the other posting. I've saved these marriages from the other post too. My problem is separating 'which' Bailey Shumate. I am hoping some SHUMATE & / or WEAVER descendant can explain. Question: 1) Is this the 'same' Bailey Shumate marrying in 1791, 1800 & 1842? 2) If NOT the same Bailey Shumate, how many are there? 3) If 2 or 3 with the same name, do they have different parents? .........If so, WHO are they? I figure the Bailey Shumate who m'd Elizabeth WEAVER in 1800 almost has to be the father of James B Shumate (b.14 Sep 1808), VA. In my notes, I have about 3 or 4 Elizabeth Weavers and Ann Elizabeth Weavers. Like many families, every WEAVER sibling had one. Maybe some day, a researcher can help me unscramble these. Currently, I'm reading a lot of various records, etc. Thanks so much for trying to send as much info as you can find.
