Margo, Wow! What a timely Will you've posted. I'm working on this line because I'm trying to find out who the James Allen was who did the inventory along with Lott Hackley and Alex. McConchie of Capt. Robert Knox of Maryland. Henry Allen married Catherine McConchie, d/o of Alexander McConchie and Ann LNU. June has done extensive work on these lines and have provided me with many records. I'd like to share a few that will tie in with the one you've posted. Thank you! Margo, I appreciate your posting this. Allens are so elusive! This appears to be a Deed of Gift, rather than a Will. Perhaps you can cite what Deed book in Fauquier it is from, with a page number? Also, please, who is the father and mother of this James Allen? I have 4 in my database without parents, and one who might fit who doesn't have these children. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, February 23, 2008 11:46 AM Subject: Re: [VAFAUQUI] Allen, Stigler, Chandler, Tulloss > Here's a will that mentions the family of Ann Field Allen. > Margaret Schmidt > Chicago > > > To all whom these presents shall come I James Allen senior do send > greeting. > Know ye that I the said James Allen of the County of Fauquier and State > of > Virginia for and in consideration of the love good will and affection > which I > have and do bear towards my loving children, to wit John Field Allen, > Sarah > Kirk Pendleton, Ursla Withers Allen, Ann Field Allen and Betsey Allen all > of > the same county have given and granted and by these presents do freely > give > and grant unto these my said children John Field Allen, Sarah Kirk > Pendelton, > Ursla Withers Allen, All Field Allen and Betsey Allen, their heirs > executors > or administrators the following property to be equally divided among the > above > mentioned children, to wit, Slaves a negroe man by name of Peter, thrde > negroe by name Lucy and Else and Bet one girl named Mary and four negroe > children, Charles, Willis, Delila and Agnes with all the increase of said > Slaves.
