I want to thank Estelle for sharing all that wonderful information about Lucinda Gordon Jones Green and the information about Betty C. Jones and her home of Ellwood. I've heard back from Vicky at Warrenton Library concerning records for LEWIS ELLIS. >From his will, Lewis Ellis connects solidly to my lines. His will has also revealed who the "C.A. JONES" witness was on the Will of Tabitha A. Waugh. Amanda -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lewis Ellis: --Will, recorded August 1869. The only people mentioned by name are nephew James Ellis, son of deceased brother Robert Ellis; nephew Robert L. Martin. Witnesses were Henry F. Jones, Charles A. Jones, Jno. Crittenden, and Isaac S. Stone. --Adm Account, November 1871 --Adm Account, December 1872 --Adm Account, October 1873 --Admx Account, November 1874 --Admx Account, October1875 Living next door to Tabitha A. Waugh on the 1860 census was "Harry Jones" and June figured out that he had to have been Henry F. Jones married to Elizabeth Adams. He had son named "Charles" so this fits perfectly. My Charles Jones in his will only named a brother JOHN JONES and mentioned that Tabitha A. Waugh was to get the house now occupied by LEWIS JONES. 1860 Fauquier Co Census Harry Jones age 78 (Henry F. Jones) Elizabeth 38 daughter Sarah 27 daughter Charles 24 son Three of his 6 children living with him. This family above I am sure is this one: Henry aka: Harry Henry F. Jones Sr. born 1783 he married 1/12/1811 Elizabeth Ann Adams B:1794 d/o William & Nancy Then three houses down from Harry Jones was: Thomas E. Jones age 28 (I think this Frances E. was a FLETCHER?) Frances E. age 29 James H. age 3 I'm thinking that since Charles Jones named Tabitha A. Waugh as his niece, I think the JONES living around Tabitha A. Waugh could connect somehow to Charles Jones especially since "Harry" named a son Charles? Thomas E. Jones could be below THOMAS JONES? This doesn't mention a Charles Jones but had name "THOMAS" Jones and "ELIZA" Jones and they are children of JOHN JONES. My Charles Jones did name a brother JOHN JONES. James M. Hord m. ? Nichcolas Fallis m. ? Noah Jones? M. HORD MARGARET X JONES NOAH JONES THOMAS X JONES NICHOLAS J. FALLIS EDWARD X JONES ELIZA X JONES (Anybody know Noah Jones?) John James m. Elizabeth Wright. I think above Jas. M. Hord may connect to line of Ambrose Hord that married daughter of Aldridge James? The children and heirs at law of Aldridge James decd. This was taken from record of Military Records, Pension Applications, Heirs At Law And Civil War Military Records From The Fauquier County, Virginia, Court Minute Books, 1840-1904, compiled by Joan W. Peters, stated that on April 1, 1859, at Fauquier County, Virginia, Minute Book 1857-1859/259 the following court certification was filed: "The Court certifies that it was established to its satisfaction today by competent and credible evidence adduced before it in open Court that Captain James Wright of the Virginia Continental Line died intestate about 1812, leaving his daughter Elizabeth James, wife of John James, as his only heir at law. The children and heirs at law of Aldridge James decd. are 1) Elizabeth Hord, wife of Dr. Ambrose Hord; 2) Edwin D. James, 3) Sarah E. James, 4) Susan K. James, 5) Waverly James, 6) Duncan James and 7) David James. All are adults and live in Fauquier County, Virginia. William Smith I think below John Cropp could be related to Elizabeth Cropp that married Aldridge James. Below FNU Gordon might possibly connect to Betty Ellis & Nathaniel Gordon?
