    2. Yes, to do DNA testing there has to be a male descendant to test and it also helps to prove his descent as far as he can go on his family by the paper trail. There are surname groups at DNA companies where one can do DNA testing to see who they match with in that particular surname. In our family we have a male Cushenberry to test and the Quisenberry family has two males who have done their DNA testing so we are waiting for the results on my line to see if it matches with the Quisenberry line or not. I am not going to exhume any dead body to prove a lineage. LOL !!
