Alexander Doniphan's 2nd wife was Margaret dau of George Mott of Rappahannock Co., Va (Rich. D.B./ I-34) , Robert Doniphan was in a deed record in Stafford stating he was the eldest son of Margaret Mott and Alexander Doniphan. K.G. D.B. I-145... On 1 Oct 1722 Mott and Robert Doniphan deeded to John Dinwiddle part of a tract of land from 15,650 acres granted to George Mott 17 Oct 1670. Wit: John Travis Robert Doniphan, Jr. married Ellen Hackley, a cousin, dau of James Hackley who died 1748, of King George, and Elizabeth , his wife, dau of Ellen Mott and Richard Shippey of Richmond. >From the internet: Children of GEORGE MOTT and ELIZABETH PIGG 2a, . ELIZABETH MOTT,was born 1668 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia and died about 1712. Married John FOSSAKER 28 Mar 1692 probably in Richmond County, Virginia. John FOSSAKER Was the son of Richard FOSSAKER. Richard died before 23 Mar 1708-09. Eldest Daughter 2b. . MARGARET MOTT, was born in 1666 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. ANNE MOTT was born 1671 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia Anne died in 1740, in King George County, Virginia Anne MOTT married John GLENDENING. ELEANOR (ELLEN) MOTT was born 1673 in Old Rapphannock/County, Virginia Eleanor died in 1741 in King George County., Virginia. Eleanor MOTT married Richard SHIPPEY about 1792 probably in Richmond County, Virginia Richard SHIPPEY died in 1708 in Richmond County, Virginia (Youngest Daughter) But I can't find Richard Shippey's parents yet.
