    2. This is John's son and Peter's brother: 1.1 John JETT1 ---------------------------------------- Birth: 1708, Westmoreland County, Virginia 1Gladis (widow of John) Jett died 1778. She was of Westmoreland, but her will is recorded in King George Co. Sons: Peter and Francis; grandson John, son of Peter; daughters: Nancy Hardwick, and Elizabeth Mothershead; son-in-law, William Piper. John Jett died, testate, Culpeper County, 1771. Sons: Stephen, John (d. 1808), James (d. 1795), and William ; daughters Elizabeth Roach, Margaret Butler and Mary Tapp. His will was (dated 1763 and probated 1771.) John Jett appointed Road Surveyor vice Dickie Latham, Culpeper County, 1763. John Jett and Frederick Fishback, "with their gangs to clear the road out. of the road that leads front Freeman's to Grinnil's Ford near the school house by Gillison's to his mill," Culpeper County, 1764. === 1743-1752 King George County Deed Book 3 (Antient Press) pp. 81-84 Indenture made 1st/2nd October 1745 between JOHN JETT King George County and Brunswick Parish Planter and the Reverend DANIEL McDONALD Minister of the said Parish of Brunswick .. by deeds of lease & release .. for One hundred and fifty pounds current money of Virginia sold 200 acres on branches of Muddy Creek bounded with lands of HENRY FITZHUGH Esqr., FARQ: MATTHEWSON, JAMES STROTHER & the Gleeb land of Brunswick Parish being the land whereon said John Jett now lives being conveyed to sd Jett by deeds of lease & release from MASON FRENCH and is part of the land granted by Grand Pattent of JOHN & GEORGE MOTTS relation being thereunto had ..
