Thanks to everyone on the list for finding John Southard, his son William named his first son John and his second son William. I was wondering where in Virginia to look for more information (online)? I didn't find much use of the Virginia Gen Web Project. Any suggestions on where to look would be most appreciated. Susie

Do you ever go to http://usgenweb.org/ Click on Virginia on the left hand side of the page and get the VA page Then click on Search U S Files You will get http://www.usgwarchives.net/search/search.cgi/search.htm?form=extended which is the search engine for any state, any name, etc...
