    3. Charlotte - I don't believe yours tie in with mine but I did find a 1855 court suit against Landon L. Carter's heirs and listing the minor childen as Ada Byron Carter, Alice Lee Carter, Edward Carter, Orra Ella Carter ad Mary Kossuth (?) Carter. Also listed as deceased besides Landon L. is a Catherine Carter. Could this be yours? Jackie Charlotte Brown wrote: > My paternal great grand Aunt Catherine E. Murray married Landon L. 3. Jackie Thanks for the reference and yes, Catherine (Murray) Carter (daughter of Ralph and Catherine (Byrne) Murray - my 2nd great grandparents) is my great grand Aunt. I had not located the 1855 court suit but was given a land deed dated 1845 which did not validate the children. The info you referenced below matches the children I have located thru 1850 and 1860 census: Alice L. Carter, Edward Carter, Ella O. Carter, and Mary Katherine Carter. I also have that Landon and Catherine (Murray) Carter was listed as the guardian of Juliett A. Murray who married George W. Grayson. After Catherine's death, 3 of the children were living with George and Juliett Grayson.
