Chocy, I would only be distantly kin to  the children of Eleanor Eltonhead and Col John Carter.as it is  Eleanor's sister Martha that married Edwin Conway, Sr that are my grandparents.  I don't have a Carter grandparent.. just Martha  Eltonhead and Edwin Conway , Sr. .  I have wondered who Col. John Carter's parents  are but never pursued it  but am still working on my Conway line mainly.  But there are mamy descendants both from the  Eltonhead and Conway lines  all over Virginia and some in Maryland and that would include Carter descendants.. I did not have any of John  CARTER of "Sudley" and his wife, Janet HAMILTION's children. For sure Robert,  Landon and Wormley are their children.
