    1. [VAFAUQUI] Who is this Landon, Wormly & Rob't CARTER?
    2. Hi Listers, Could the below John CARTER be the father of Landon, Wormley and Robert CARTER? I have Charles which Pat said was called called by Landon and I also have a Robert but no Wormley (but that doesn't mean anything because I could easily just not have found him, yet) Otherwise, the name ARMISTEAD was this John CARTER's mother's maiden name which may be the family that connects John ARMISTEAD and his wife Anne BEALE. There are also BEALS closely associate with this part of the CARTER family. Chocy Secretary John CARTER (1) Birth: 1691 Corotman Plantation, Lancaster County, Virginia Father: Robert "King" CARTER of Corotoman, Virginia (1663-1732) Mother: Judith ARMISTEAD (1665-1699) Spouses: ---------------------------------------- 1: Elizabeth HILL1 Birth: 1698 Father: Colonal-Captain Edward HILL Jr., of "Shirley" (1646-1700) Mother: Tabitha SCARBURGH (1639-) Marriage: 1716 Children: Robert (1717-) Edward (1719-1792) Charles (1723-1806) Elizabeth (1728-1760) Notes for Secretary John CARTER 1Eldest son. 3. Chocy, I have seen this too. I have the Glassell book. But when I googled I saw more Carters from that original posting. and now I have forgotten that posters dates. I think it was a Landon Carter but I have seen several by the name of Landon. Anyway, to help I need those dates again but can't promise a answer. 3. Chocy - Are you sure these are brothers? Landon Carter married to Elizabeth Wormley had son Landon Jr. and Robert Wormeley Carter. Landon Jr. had a son Charles Landon (who went variously by Charles or C.L. or Landon on court documents) and also a son Wormeley. Any combination of the four can be found on various court papers. Landon and Elizabeth Wormeley also had a son John (John of Sudely) who married Janet Hamilton. It is their son John whose will I believe you find in 1838. He also had a brother Landon and a brother Robert. Have I mentioned this family drives me nuts?
