GW may have surveyed some of the leased lots for Lord Fairfax in the Manors. I have not seen his name mentioned in the surveys for the Fauquier grants, but I may have missed it since I wasn't looking for it. He spent a lot of time surveying in Frederick County, including what is now Hampshire and Hardy counties in WV, as well as up in Jefferson and Berkeley counties (WV). You may want to do a Google search for the George Washington Papers. They are now online and you can search his diary to see if Fauquier is mentioned anywhere. Keep in mind that much of Fauquier was already surveyed and allocated prior to Fauquier becoming a county (1759). - Nancy U. No virus found in this outgoing message.
