Hi Sandra, No, I haven't ruled them out. I have also seen that William Rogers' wife was Francis Hornbuckle. I wonder if there is any proof either way.   My William Dearing is a brother to John Dearing. I believe their father was William Dearing (or at least according to the Bible records on the website at VA lib - wife, Susannah). In one of the Hooe articles there was a land record that mentioned a William Dearing in King George Co and I was wondering if that could be the father, William. On tax lists for Fauquier Co there are 2 William Dearings listed and one did not have to pay tax so he most likely was the father (after a certain age they didn't have to pay tax).
