    2. Well, it looks like John Cushenberry (son of Moses Cushenberry, my grandfather), and Simon Kenton were brother-in-laws. I never knew that before. , Martha Dowden and Simon Kenton 16 May 1787 Rebecca Dowden and John Cushonbery 15 Dec 1791... Moses Cushenberry's son. Bourbon County, Kentucky Marriage Records, 1786-1800 Elizabeth Cushenberry and Zachariah Ross, 10 Jul 1795 ..... Moses Cushenberry's daughter. Simon Kenton was born at the headwaters of Mill Run in the Bull Run Mountains, in what is now Fauquier County, Virginia (birthplace was part of Prince William County at time of his birth prior to formation of Fauquier in 1759) to Mark Kenton Sr. (an immigrant from Ireland) and Mary Miller Kenton. And Moses Cushenberry was at Bourbon Co., Ky. Village of Washington and Settlement of Limestone in 1786-1787 when Miles W. Conway and Daniel Boone were Trustees and Simon Kenton was there. Also..... I didn't think I would be posting on this today but it seems Moses Cushenberry died before 1792. It must have been his estate that was challenged in court. New record: Kenton, Simon..... Martha, wife of Moses Cushenbery had a Bargain & Sale (B-2; Wife's exam: B-145 & 146).... 2 Dec 1789; wife's examination 23 Aug 1790. In May 1792 the court oversaw Moses estate since there was no will. It was recorded June 1792. Anne his wife qualified with Nicholas Lindsay her son-in-law and William Quesenberry (her son) , her securities and gave bond, The original estate record is all I have and it is just a few lines in Order Book A May 1792.. it says... 'The Administration of the estate of Moses Quesenberry is granted to Anne Quesenberry who came into Court and qualified and with Nicholas Lindsay (her son-in-law).. and William Quesenberry (her son) her securities gave Bond under penalty of L240 conditioned as the law directs. I have a record from the original where it names , what he owned .. the only names on it is ...Note on Coleman Theobolds 300 Salt.. Ditto on Psar ? Burris... featherbed ,, names Dan Durbin?.. A. Easter.. James Kenney. Then... At a Court for Bourbon County, Ky. at the courthouse on Tuesday, 19 Jan 1790, Indentutre of bargain and sale from Simon Kenton and Marrha (Anne) his wife to Moses Cushenberry was proved by the oaths of Josiah Dickson, Elijah Cushenberry & Vincent Cushenberry, witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded John Edwards , C. B. C. (Ky Genealogist, Vol. 6, p. 66) Now..... in the Ky. Gazette dated 15 Sep 1800 in Bourbon County Aug 1800 , James Kenny complained against all of Moses and Ann's children and Miles W. Conway and Simon Kenton were defendants. .... " James Kenny complaint againft John Cussenbury, William Cussenbury, Elijah Cussenbury, Vincent Cussenbury, Daniel Cussenbury (infant under the age off twenty-one years), Lindsey and Mary his wife, Lindsey and Betsey his wife.. Ross and Anna his wife, and Rachel Cussenbury ( an infant under the age of twenty-one years)... Cussenbury, widow of said Moses, deceased, Miles W. Conway and Simon Kenton, defendants. The article was incorrect as Betsy married Zachariah Ross and Anna married Vachel Lindsay. I have never understood this part except Anne lived until ca 1800. Another record: Josiah Dickson, Elijah Cushenbery and Vincent Cushenbery 150 acres on NE side of South Fork of Licking, part of the Preemption of Craig and Johnston assignees of John May, assignee of James Galloway: in the lines of Dickson and Craig & Johnston; Martha Kenton's exam by Alexander D.
