Mostly in Fayette Tax List 1790. ************************************* The Register of Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co VA, 1723-1758, Compiled and Published by George H.S. King, 1961 page 245 Solomon Waugh was married on April 13, 1748, in Overwharton Parish to Betty Chinn; she had an illegitimate daughter named Lizzie Chinn born on Oct 18, 1745. She was the daughter of Rawleigh Chinn who testified in Stafford Court in 1760, but he was not the son of Rawleigh Chinn and Esther [Ball] Chinn of Lancaster Co VA as stated in Hayden's Virginia Genealogies, pages 74-75. The Lancaster County records show that Rawleigh Chinn [ 17__-1756], son of Rawleigh and Esther [Ball] Chinn died intestate in that county leaving two daughters, viz; Catherine who married Francis Christian and Anne who married Thaddeus McCarty. Furthermore, a case in the Virginia Court of Appeals in 1793 recites the facts as follows; that Raleigh Chinn by Will in or about 1741 devised the residue of a certain tract of land for which he had a patent from Thomas, Lord Fairfax, to his son, Rawleigh Chinn and " he died in or about 1756, intestate, leaving issue as co-inheritresses, two infant daughters, Anne and Catherine, the former of whom intermarried with McCarty and the latter with Christian, before they attained their ages of 21 years. The two children of Solomon and Betty [Chinn] Waugh where all born at Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co VA. They are: Micajah born Jan 9, 1949 and Grace born July 21, 1751 Grace married Elisha Perry on Jan 30, 1783, Micajah - appears first time on 1783 tax list. In 1801 appears on King George Co VA tax list. He appears for several years with David Waugh. No mention of marriage is listed. *** page 59 John James came to Virginia in 1650 and in 1670 patented land in Stafford Co where he died ante 1690; his widow, Elizabeth, married secondly, Thomas Norman. Thomas James, son and heir of John James, lived on Potomac Creek. He patented land there in 1699 about which time he married Sarah ___. Not much added to the information submitted by Marlowest.
