    3. Hi Sandra, Glad you asked! I was going to get to this. I am trying to get to bottom of who the parents were of ROBERT DADE who marrried ELIZABETH HARRISON with daughter ROSE. This is going around my elbow but ALEXANDER McCONCHIE's grandson, ROBERT KING McCONCHIE married ELIZABETH STIGLER who was the 3x great granddaughter of GEORGE MOTT. GEORGE MOTT had daughters Margaret Mott m. ALEXANDER DONIPHAN. Eleanor Mott m. RICHARD SHIPPEY, daughter Jael Shippey m. 1st William Underwood, 2nd Samuel Reeds and their daughter Mildred married 1st UNKNOWN BROWN, 2nd JAMES STIGLER whose daughhter Elizabeth Stigler m. ROBERT KING McCONCHIE. Mildred's sister JAEL REEDS m. LOTT HACKLEY. ALEXANDER McCONCHIE and LOTT HACKLEY did the 1785 estate inventory of CAPT. ROBERT KNOX. ROSE TOWNSEND DADE was d/o ELIZABETH HARRISON who married 1st ROBERT DADE, 2nd ROBERT MASTIN. ALEXANDER DONIPHAN did the estate inventory of ROBERT SLYE who was married to SUSANNAH GERARD. Susannah Gerard's sister Elizabeth Gerard married Nehemiah Blackistone and their daughter, Rebecca Blackistone, married Gerard Newton, son of JOHN NEWTON who had married ROSE the a widow of THOMAS GERARD. This ALL needs to be checked out with actual records as I'm no expert but there is a definite connection of all this to line of GEORGE MOTT and then around to ALEXANDER McCONCHIE. Maryland seems to be a common factor for these lines. I welcome all feedback and comments and I'm not stating any of this as fact as it needs more research and ultimately to be proven. It just seems to be holding up really well when looking at the records. Thanks, Amanda ================================================================ Rose Newton's will dated Dec. 1, 1712; probated Feb. 3, 1713 by Thomas Newton.) WILLS OF Westmoreland County, Virginia 1654-1800 BY AUGUSTA B. FOTHERGILL: Pg 18 NEWTON, JOHN, 19 August 1695; 28 July 1697. To eldest son John my lands at Carlton and Camilsforth, in Yorkshire in England, and the house in Hull, which was my father's, also the land bought of Joseph Laycock, to said son John and his four children I leave 1,000 lbs. of tobacco each; to son Joseph and his three sons 1,000 lbs. of tobacco each; to son Benjamin and his daughter 1,000 lbs. of tobacco each; son Gerrard and wife Rebecca live at ye Little Falls and have 1,000 acres in the freshes of Rappahannock with a mill and four negroes; to daughter Elizabeth Newton [she married 2nd Benjamin Berryman and their daughter Sarah Berryman m. William Douglas whose HALF sister Sarah Douglas was named in the Will of Rev. William McConchie who married Mary Hanson.]one-half of a tract of 2,150 acres and one negro; to my wife all my plate for life and then to my dau.; to son Thomas 350 acres and a mill at Totoskey; to wife Rose Newton 5,000 lbs. of tobacco each year for life and various other bequests; to son Thomas four Negroes; to grandson John the son of Joseph Newton, 200 acres of land. John son of son Joseph Newton. My three English sons one negro if they are living at my death. I think above son GERRARD NEWTON m. REBECCA BLACKISTONE. They had possible daughter ROSE NEWTON m. 1st THOMAS GRIGSBY 4 May 1715 in St. Paul's Parish, Stafford Co. Va. and 2nd TOWNSEND DADE 12 Dec. 1745 in St. Paul's Parish,Stafford Co. Va. [All this needs some really deep digging] [I think Rebecca had AUNT Susannah Gerard who was wife of ROBERT SLYE.] TOWNSEND DADE was supposedly married 1st to ELIZABETH ALEXANDER about 1714 in Stafford Co. Va. and had seven children one of which is supposedly ROBERT DADE b. 1723 in Saint Paul's Parish, Stafford Co. VA who married ELIZABETH HARRISON, d/o Verlinda Stone and Joseph Harrison. This the ROBERT DADE who was father of ROSE TOWNSEND DADE m. ROBERT KNOX. This is the estate of CAPT. ROBERT DADE who for certain married ELIZABETH HARRISON. Capt. Richard Harrison had the daughter Elizabeth Harrison who married 1st JOHN KNOX, 2nd GEOGE DENT, 3rd ENOCH J. BROWN...these are those Fauquier connections] John Stone. Received from: Capt. Payments to: John Chin, Alexander Sutherland, Patrick Bruten, Thomas Massey, Jos. Harrison, Benjamin Tasker, Esq., Daniel Jenifer. Representatives: widow (unnamed), 2 children: Elisabeth Dade (age 8), Rose Townsend Dade (age 5). [There's little ROSE who would marry CAPT. ROBERT KNOX whose estate inventory was done in 1785 by my 5xgf Alexander McConchie and Lott Hackley] Administratrix: Elisabeth Dade. If above THOMAS MASSEY was married 2nd to ELEANOR PARRENDER, then below was MOTT DONIPHAN who was SON of ALEXANDER DONIPHAN and MARGARET MOTT. MOTT DONIPHAN would have been FIRST COUSIN to JAEL SHIPPEY who was daugher of ELEANOR MOTT and RICHARD SHIPPEY. MOTT DONIPHAN was in records with "R. HARRISON and JO. H. HARRISON" who I REALLY THINK ARE THE BROTHERS of ELIZABETH HARRISON m. ROBERT DADE! ===SEE WHAT I MEAN. I know this MOTT DONIPHAN was son of ALEXANDER DONIPHAN and MARGARET MOTT. MARGARET MOTT was d/o GEORGE MOTT. MARGARET MOTT was sister of ELEANOR MOTT m. RICHARD SHIPPEY whose granddaughter MILDRED REEDS m. 1st UNKNOWN BROWN, 2nd JAMES STIGLER and their daughter ELIZABETH "BETSY" STIGLER m. Robert Slye's wife Susannah was, I think, Aunt of Rebecca Blackistone m. Gerard Newton. Charles County Circuit Court Liber E, Page 129-1/2 1671; Thomas Yeabsley, merchant of Plymouth, Devon, ex. of the will of Amos Short who lately died "at Virginia or parts thereabout" Robert Slye of Maryland, admn.; appoints Alexander Doniphen of Plymouth, merchant, as attorney to inventory estate with Robert Slye Rebecca Blackistone m. Gerard Newton. Rebecca was d/o of Nehemiah Blackiston m. Elizabeth Gerard who was SISTER of Susannah Gerard m. ROBERT SLYE. 1/18/1670: Nehemiah Blackistone and Justinian Gerard named as brothers in the will of Robert Slye and as overseers of his estate. Can anyone find on line Will of Robert Slye?
