"Consent of parent personally given. " Obedience (Bettie) was born 5 Jan 1793 in Fayette Co., Ky. Elijah is the son of Moses Cushenberry that died in 1792 in Boubon Co., Ky and Ann unknown. Obedience married 2nd to Johnson J. Cockrill in 1815. There is also a John Cockrill that married to Susannah Boone, with Thomas Boone as surety 5 Aug 1807. Squire Boone gave consent for his daughter for his daughter to marry, witnessed by Thomas Boone. I am not sue if this is the same John Cockrill or not. The record is also in Fayette Co.. According to the Ellis Family Newsletter dated 22 Jan 1946, Capt. William Ellis married 18 June 1786, in Fayette Co., Ky. to Elizabeth Shipp. She is the daughter of John Shipp and Sally Johnson of Fauquier County, Va. Johnston Ellis is the son of Capt. William Ellis and Elizabeth Shipp. Capt. William Ellis was born in Spotsylvania Co., Va and is the son of Hezekiah Ellis and Mildred Burbridge. Fayette County Records...
