    3. June, This was Theodosia [Stone] Maconchie who was first wife of William McConchie who was on the 1771 estate of Robert Mastin with our descendant Alexander McConchie who WAS NOT the brother of William McConchie. I think we can at least nail down for certain that William McConchie who married Theodosia Stone, 2nd Elizabeth Muncaster had some kind of kinship to our descendant Alexander Mcconchie who ended up in Fauquier Co. by 1775 at Robert Knox's quarter. Thanks! Amanda ============================================================== Notes: p. 176, TLC Genealogy, Charles County Deed Book 1770-1775 S#3 Page 296. Deed of Gift. It has the will of William McConchie. Mary was his wife but no maiden name. The John McConchie was his brother. The other ones named were his seven children. This was really good in that three people witnessed his will one of which was Alexander J. McConchie and it gives his full name in one line as Alexander Jones McConchie. Thought that was interesting because Alexander has the same middle name (Jones) as Fanny Jones McConchie who was daughter of William and Alexander clearly was not a child by William. He might be a son by John the brother? Also, we know that on the 1810 census, Alexander J. McConchie was living beside Mary so that adds up. Evidently William got into financial difficulty and had to borrow $1,800 from the Farmers Bank of Maryland and that's when John B. Wills, Jr. and Samuel Chapman got a deed of Trust from him in order to loan money which William defaulted on. This is where it gets very tedious but I've been transcribing it page by page saved to Rich Text format. I'm been sending to Mary Jo because she has an interest as well. Another thing that I think might be a big lead in all this was that it states in the court records that John McConchie deeded Pointon Manor to his brother William on March 23, 1801. I will try to get that record from Archives but I'm wondering how John ended up getting Pointon Manor? (We're thinking that this William was William, Jr. son of William and Theodosia and that John was his brother.) ....... Amanda CHANCERY COURT (Chancery Papers) 1810/12/22 5520: John B.
