I forgot to mention that the Octavia Edmonds I am referring to was in the household of Elias Edmonds in the 1850 Fauquier census. This has allowed me to exclude a lot of possibilities but because John's son William apparently left Fauquier after he sold the farm he is rarely mentioned. William's male children are not documented at all (except by me) as far as I can tell. I am hoping someone researching other associtated lines maybe has run across a stray Edmonds specifically Thomas, John, William (Billy) or Octavia. Billy and a cousin James Henry Edmonds travel to Central MO (after a stop in Kanawha County WVA) with Mark Chilton about 1840. Billy marries and lives out his life there, James Henry after a lot of trials an tribulations returns to Fauquier some years later. Wm was b. 1704 in Lancaster, VA d. 1741 Lancaster, VA. I show your John Edmonds as son of Wm. and his first wife, Catherine Miller but I have no other siblings from that marriage. That John Edmonds b. 1737, d. 1798 m. 1st Frances Jane Wiley/Wildey and 2nd Helen Shepard Hack. John and Frances Jane had a son William b 14 Feb 1763 and d. 1811 in Fauquier Co. I do not have a spouse for this William. The only Octavia Edmonds in my records was born about 1789, the daughter of Elias Edmonds and Frances Edmonds (his cousin). Octavia's siblings were Elias b. 1787 and Elizabeth b 1791 who married Joseph Blackwell of Fauquier Co. Octavia married George William Grayson who was b abt 1787. I show Octavia's father, Elias Edmonds b.1757 d 1800 was the son of Elias and Elizabeth Milier. This Elias was the son of the same William Edmonds b 1704 Lancaster VA and his 2nd wife, Judith Sydnor from whom I descend. My records show Octavia's mother, Frances Edmonds as the daughter of John and Frances Jane Wiley Edmonds. Is it possible that your "lost" Billy and Octavia were uncle and niece rather than brother and sister?
