    1. [VAFAUQUI] COULD JOHN BROWN m. LUCH HUGHES connect to THOMAS BROWN line died 1787?
    2. Amanda E. Douglass
    3. Hi Renee, I'm revisiting much that you had shared in the EMMONS quest. June sent me ton and thankfully I have almost all these old emails! What a wealth of information you have shared over the past several years and I think it's coming together! There surely must be several BROWN lines all interacting around mutual lines. You all have shown this ANDREW JACKSON BROWN who married MARY F. EMMONS whose brother was JAMES EMMONS. I'm adding more pieces to this puzzle. I think with input from you, June and Denise, we might can connect some dots. Thanks, Amanda ======================================== QUESTION: Can we find out who siblings were of JOHN BROWN m. LUCY HUGHES? Parents for JOHN BROWN? ANDREW JACKSON BROWN was son of JOHN BROWN and LUCY HUGHES. John and Lucy married 1812 Culpeper Co. Children of John and Lucy were: John W. Brown; James Thomas Brown; Sarah Frances M. Brown; Elizabeth Ann Brown; Harriet I Brown; Lucy Eleade Brown; Frederick H. Brown; Philip Brown; Andrew Jackson Brown; Daniel Patrick Brown; Joel Thomas Brown; Mary Virginia Brown. [Mary Virginia Brown m. John Wesley McConchie 8/18/1857 [John Wesely McConchie was son of William A. McConchie and Eliza Martin?] 1850 Turner District, Culpeper Co Census Household # 392 John Brown 61 Lucy 58 Frederick 23 Elizabeth 23 Lucy E. 19 Daniel 18 Thomas 16 [provided by June] So there's the above line of JOHN BROWN and LUCY that makes a connection to EMMONS and then to McCONCHIE. I want to try to see if below THOMAS BROWN makes a connection to the line of JOHN BROWN m. LUCY HUGHES. Could JOHN BROWN m. LUCY HUGHES have had a BROTHER THOMAS BROWN? I really need to see if these connect. John Wesley McConchie who married Mary Virginia Brown had father William A. McConchie m. Eliza Martin. I think Eliza Martin's father was Francis T. Martin whose SISTER Mary Martin married JAMES WHEATLEY who could be the James Wheatley witness below? James Wheatley's wife Mary would have been an AUNT of Eliza Martin m. William A. McConchie? p. 64 Will of THOMAS BROWN of St. Mark's Parrish , Culpeper Co. Dated 29 Oct. 1786. Proven 15 Jan. 1787. Legatees: Wife SARAH BROWN [who was she?], son JOHN BROWN, son THOMAS BROWN, JAMES BROWN, GIDEON BROWN. Dau. SARAH KENADAY. grandson. THOMAS BROWN, son of JOHN BROWN Executors: Wife SARAH BROWN, son JOHN BROWN, son THOMAS BROWN. Wit: JAMES WHEATLEY, DANIEL FARMER, RICHARD HUDSON Does anyone know who RICHARD HUDSON was?

    2. Amanda E. Douglass
    3. Hi June and Denise, Many thanks for responding! Yes, I am looking at all those posts by Connie and Renee and some things are starting to click. Here more pieces that I'm looking to connect. Add anything you can. Thanks, Amanda Wondering if this JOHN BROWN makes a connection? Minutre Book 1764-1768 page 3 24 Sept. 1764 A report of jury on the acre of alnd petitioned for by CHARLES DUNCAN was returned...I have 12 free and lawfull men of my county befing first sworn diligently viewed the acre of alnd belonging to RAULEIGH DOWNMAN petitioned for by CHARLES DUNCAN for the erection of a water ill on SUMMER DUCK RUN and do find...no damage to any person whatsoever...jurors set their hands and seals this 15 Setp. 1764 W. GRANT Sherriff, JOHN WOODSYDE, JOHN BROWN, JOHN HENERY, WM. COURTNEY, JOSEPH SEBASTIN, PETER BEACH, JOHN COUTNEY, RICHARD COVINGTON, LOTT HACKLEY, JOHN BUTLER, MAURICE JACOBS and GEORGE HENERY. Would like to try to ID above JOHN BROWN. Wonder if he could be the JOHN BROWN who died 1788? Above LOTT HACKLEY was on the 1775 Tithables List taken by William Grant for lower Hamilton Parish. I'm thinking above "W. GRANT" might be same person to did Tithables list in 1775? 1775 Tithables List taken by William Grant for lower Hamiton Parish had Alexander McConchie at Robert Knox's quarter. We know that Alexander McConchie did 1785 estate of Robert Knox whose widow was Rose Townsend [Dade] Knox who remarried George Dent. Robert Knox and Alexander McConchie were both on the 1771 estate of Robert Mastin in CC MD. Alexander McConchie had wife Ann MNU. On the 1775 Tithables List close by to Alexander McConchie was Lott Hackley whose wife Jael Reeds was sister of Mildred Reeds who married Unknown Brown, 2nd James Stigler 27 Dec. 1779. [Lott Hackley was around a JOHN BROWN in year 1764.] Mildred didn't have any children by 1st marriage to UNKNOWN BROWN but there was a James Brown witness on her marriage to JAMES STIGLER in 1779. So I'm thinking that perhaps some of the BROWN names close by to Lott Hackley and Alexander McConchie might be lines that Mildred married into? Two names on the 1775 Tithables list that were living close by were MARMADUKE BROWN and SWANSON BROWN. I'm thinking that the 1775 SWANSON BROWN may be the same one in record below? This has me thinking because the name SWANSON BROWN shows up again as a witness on the Will of ROBERT EMBREY. JOSEPH ORDOR was on account sale of WILLIAM EMMONS in 1796/ JESSE BROWN was on same estate account.] p.30 Bethel/Betthill. John+. 59M, 66F, 75G, 78C. M5-100. 1773. Wit for Ann Odor ag William & Elizabeth EMMONS. D[eed Book] 7-180, 1779. He & Ann + Bethel sell 125 a. on Summerduck Run to Swanson Brown. Then wondering if above Swanson Brown could be the one below? Will of Robert Embrey 26 Oct. 1784, 25 June 1779 Book 2, page 188 Fauquier County Named grandson: Robert Embrey (son of Charles) to have 82 a lying between Carter's line and Summerduck Run. Sons: Thomas Embrey and Robert Embrey to equally divide the remaining land. Wife: Ann Exrs: Thomas & Robert Embrey, sons Wit. Lincefield Sharpe Swanson Brown John Brown Any ideas about these witnesses?

    3. Are there any church or other records that would have births, christenings, membership information, etc., from the 1780's? I'm searching for Reason (Rezen, Rizen, etc.) Vermillion who may have been born in Fauquier County ca. 1788, to Uriah Vermillion and Susannah Barker. His older brother Levi, born about 1784, also may have been born there. I've checked the courthouse, public library, and different online sites, and am checking neighboring counties. Thanks, Michael L. Vermillion

    2. Listers are probably out with "Spring Fever" Symptoms: they hear birds chirping along the trickling springs while basking in the warm sun! They will recover and they will be back on the first "too" hot afternoon. Chocy

    1. [VAFAUQUI] Huntons in Fauquier Co.
    2. Sandra & Tom Stephens
    3. Are there any Hunton researchers out there?  My great-grandfather, Ranzil Hunton Rogers/Rodgers was born in 1821 in Fauquier co.  I have always wondered which Hunton he was named for.  If anyone knows of Rogers/Hunton connections, I'd love to hear about it.  Ranzil's father was John H. Rogers (changed spelling to Rodgers when he moved to TN) who married Lucinda Smith, and his grandfather was Henry Rogers who married Sarah "Sally" Jett.   Thanks, Sandra
