Maybe the Peter Conway I was asking about is this one ??? Peter Mack Conway was born 14 Oct 1746 in Fauquier Co. Va, and died 11 Jan 1833 in Fauquier Co. Va. He married Mary James 15 Nov 1769 in Fauquier Co. Va. She was born Aug 1750 in Fauquier Co. Va, and died 27 Jul 1822 in Fauquier Co. Va. His parents are Thomas Conway and Elizabeth Mauzey. If so he would be of the line of Thomas Conway that came to Va in 1671 that some of us are trying to see if that line connects with Edwin Conway, Sr and Martha Eltonhead. Marianne Dillow Illinois
Maybe the Peter Conway I asked about could be Peter Mack Conway who was born 14 Oct 1746 in Fauquier Co. Va, and died 11 Jan 1833 in Fauquier Co. Va. He married Mary James 15 Nov 1769 in Fauquier Co. Va. She was born Aug 1750 in Fauquier Co. Va, and died 27 Jul 1822 in Fauquier Co. Va. This Peter Conway would be the son of Thomas Conway and Elizabeth Mauzey... this Conway line would be of the Thomas Conway line that came to Va in 1671 and is the line of the other three people I am working with to see if they are kin to my Edwin Conway, Sr and Martha Eltonhead line. Congratulations Amanda and June !! LOL !! My 9th great grandparents are Edwin Conway, Sr and Martha Eltonhead. I descend from them though their daughter Eltonhead Conway that married Henry Thacker, Sr. I am trying to place which Peter Conway this is. There is a Peter Conway in Edwin's line but there is another Conway line from Thomas Conway that came to Va ca 1671. This line includes some by the name of Dennis Conway in Northumberland Co., Va , .. George Conway and Presley family... Presley Thornton.. goes to Gen. Henry Conway of Greene Co., Tn. of which one of the ladies I am working with just entered the DAR on him as it is her line. .She is one of two others I am currently working with to see if those two Conway lines are kin. They know the same people but might not connect until back in England. Do you have any more info on this Peter Conway ? Marianne Dillow.. Renee, You had asked about below. I have the following. Amanda, Do you have descriptions of this land and the transfers from Knox, Dent, McConchie, Emmons, Ludwell? ================ MORE PIECES... we need to identify as many names and witnesses on these records. We know that Lott Hackley was around RODHAM TULLOSS and that JAMES STIGLER Jr. was around RODHAM JONES. I think RODHAM TULLOSS had two daughters who married SONS of BRERETON JONES. Lott Hackley was also around Brereton Jones who had FATHER ROBERT JONES. Does anything click??? 1. Amanda, Here is some more info and Thomas Conway is also mentioned in this.... Marianne Dillow ***************************************************************************************************************************** Rodham Tullos, son of John and grandson of Cloud Tullos Rodham Tullos (born 1712) moved by June 1735 from Northumberland County to Prince William County, Virginia, where he purchased 100 acres of land in Hamilton Parish from John Boystone. He appears in several records and is on a list of taxpayers in 1751. He lived in that part of Prince William County that became Fauquier County in 1759. The wife of Rodham Tullos was named Susannah. On "10 October 1769, Joshua Tullos and his mother, Susannah Tullos, transferred 100 acres of land in Hamilton Parish, Fauquier County, to Rodham Tullos for a consideration of 18 pounds sterling." Cohen Cochran believes that record indicates that Rodham Tullos (Sr.) had died before 1769 and his widow, Susannah, and son, Joshua, were transferring property which they had inherited to another son, Rodham Tullos (Jr.). The children of Rodham and Susannah Tullos were: 1. Joshua Tullos - born 1735 in Prince William Co. and died 1827 in Fauquier Co. Virginia. He married Gladys McDonald in Fauquier Co. in 1770. In his will Joshua spells his name "Tulloss" and his male descendants seem to have continued with that spelling. Joshua did name a son Rodham, but this Rodham Tulloss was born 1772 in Fauquier Co. VA and died 1840 in Williamson Co. Tennessee. 2. Richard Tullos - born about 1737 in Prince William Co. VA. His will in Fauquier Co. was the first one recorded in the newly created county. He apparently died unmarried, without issue, and left only a very small estate. Will of RICHARD TULLOS - Fauquier Co. He married in 1764 in Fauquier Co. to Ann James Finnie, widow of John Finnie and daughter of John James. Rodham appears to have intermittently used the spelling Tulloss, as have some of his descendants. Rodham and Ann had seven children, including a son, Rodham, who was born 1780 in Fauquier Co. and died there 1842.

The recent flurry of postings stirred up a long dormant research line for e. Has anyone involved with all of these Brown families run across Rhoda (Roda, ody) Brown born about 1800 (probably Fauquier County) and married esse/Jessee Gray in Fauquier County in 1818. The marriage bond for Jessee ray and Roda Brown lists Frances Thaddeus as Roda's mother. I have seen ther listings that indicate Roda's father may have been a Thaddeus Brown. James Conway of Va., who served in the Rev War, I have a notation of : Thomas Conway and wife Elizabeth of Fauquier County , 1733, deeded to William and George Conway , their sons, land devised by Mary Waugh to her daughter Elizabeth Conway. That's all I have on them. I don't know how Lt. James Conway fits into the other Conway's. He does not appear in Edwin Conway, Sr and Martha Eltonhead lines. Marianne Dillow

Would appreciate any info on the origins of Enoch Brown, who was married to Sarah Yates on 8 Jan 1800 in Culpeper Co. They apparently were parents of Lucy Walter, wife of Edward Walter, per Culpeper Will Book Q, p. 313. Thanks, Al
I'm leaving town just few mintues but yes I do have copies of originals that Vicky sent me from Warrenton Library. I will pull these out when I return and give the land information. Can't take laptop because no internet. Will catch up by Tuesday. Thanks, Amanda PS Another thing, James Stigler m. 2nd the widow Alice Claxton. She was involved with some Wiggintons. There was William Wigginton Sr. who had son William Wiggington Jr. and then there was a Peter Wigginton. I haven't identified the Wiggintons yet but this line surely must play a significant part in figuring out some of these other relationships as well.
