    1. Re: [VAFAUQUI] Miles W. Conway in Ky.
    2. Turning corners here because of the SHIPP surname below : My Conway line isn't connected to my grandfather Moses Cushenberry and wife Ann unknown. Moses was from Virginia and he died in Bourbon Co., Ky in 1792. My cousins and I believe he is from the Quisenberry family from Virginia that went to Ky with the Traveling Church. The Quisenberry line was originally in Westmoreland County, Va . Humphrey was one of the first., My Moses is older than the Moses Quisenberry who is from the Aaron Quisenberry and Joyce Dudley line. Rev. James Quisenberry married (1) Jane Burris dau of Thomas Burris and Frances Tandy. He married (2) to Chloe Shipp. The Rev is the son of Aaron Quisenberry and Joyce Dudley. When my Moses Cushenberry was in Bourbon Co., Ky..... Miles W. Conway was there also plus Rev. James Quisenberry and Leban Shipp and Colby Shipp on the Fayette Co., Ky list. Fayette formed from Bourbon. Rawleigh Chinn and Smith Darnell lived next door to my Moses COOSENBERRY (it has been spelled several ways including Quisenberry..., LOL ) I have a Graves line from Spotsylvania and Culpeper counties and the Graves are there also with the Toliver Craig group along with my Moses Cushenberry and in deeds there. After Moses died , Ann his wife, was granted his estate (no will) by the court and she was qualified with Nicholas Lindsay (son-in-law) and her son, WILLIAM QUISENBERRY, her securities. Source: Abstract of Early Ky Wills and Inventories, p. 9. I understand there are several Rawlreugh Chinn's so I don't know which one lived next door to my Moses Cushenberry in Ky. I am still trying to prove his lineage to and before the generation of Aaron Quisenberry and Joyce Dudley back to Humphrey Quisenberry. He was the third son of a Thomas Lee, the "empire builder," who as the 5th son of Richard Lee "the emigrant", the largest Virginia landowner at the time of his death in 1640, received a modest inheritance. Thomas Lee, Richard Henry Lee's father, nonetheless managed to acquire real estate holdings far beyond Lee "the emigrant" and at the time of his death in 1750 amassed some 30,000 acres in the Northern Neck of Virginia. The greater part of Thomas Lee's massive estate, including the family homestead called Stratford, went to the eldest son, Philip Ludwell Lee. Only the first four of Thomas Lee's six surviving sons, which included Richard Henry Lee, were left modest landed estates.

    2. I never knew much about Miles W. Conway before. I thought you might find this interesting. My 5th great grandparents are Moses Cushenberry and Ann unknown. Moses died 1792 in Bourbon Co., Ky. I descend from their son Daniel who married Sarah Davis, dau of William Davis from Culpeper County., Va.. Miles W. Conway was at Limestone and the Village of Washington (some in Mason Co., Ky today)... he was there settling the area with my Moses and Daniel Boone were trustees with Miles W. Conway , 1786, etc. My Moses Cushenberry was from Virginia and was with people in Ky that came there from Orange and Spotsylvania County, Va with the "Traveling Church." We believe my Moses is part of the Quisenberry family in Va and everything leads to it but we still cant prove it. Miles W, Conway goes back to Va of Wiithers , Christopher, Dennis and Thomas Conway. 3. Hello There! I'd appreciate it if you could tell me if any branches of the Thornton family moved to Mississippi. As possibly a former slave of the Thornton family, at the close of slavery (1865) there was a Virginia Thornton born in either VA or MS. This Virginia Thornton was my great grandmother and I've not able to find her with her family before she married Jim Smith in 1889 in MS. The only census I have found her in is the 1900 census. She died around 1905. I'm unable to find ANY VITAL RECORDS ON her. Thanks so much! 3. A Virginia funeral home accused of mishandling bodies awaiting burial at Arlington National Cemetery has been fined $50,000. The Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers and National Funeral Home signed a consent order Monday. National agreed to the fine, two years probation and a half-dozen unannounced inspections per year. A spokeswoman for Service Corporation International, the funeral home's parent company, says the agreement is not an admission of guilt. She says it's a way to settle the issue. A former employee had accused the Falls Church funeral home of storing bodies in hallways and on unrefrigerated storage racks in a garage. Funeral home officials acknowledged they stored bodies in the garage, but never for long. Related Stories a.. Report: 'Disturbing and Disrespectful' Conditions at Funeral Home b..
