    1. SIGLER Correction
    2. Sorry I missed: Shenandoah Co., VA Sigler, Michael; Powels Fort; 9SE. I was particularly interested in the Sigler name because a Richard Sigler (miss spelled on the document Stage) signed as Teste with Edward Northcraft on a permission note for Hezekiah Rutter's daughter to marry Aaron Henry. I believe the Hezekiah Rutter that was in Shenandoah Co., VA lived in 1790 in Fauquier Co., VA. I believe the name was also spelled Staig and that he had a Shenandoah Co. VA merchants license.

    3. Jim, you are a jewel! I know there is a Rookard/Kennard connection, just can't figure it out. Did not have this record, thank you! Same thing with trying to connect them to Grainger Co, TN. But, I am thrilled with one I did not ask for: William Edmonds, Edward Digges, John Sinclair, and John O'Bannon ordered to settle Andrew O'Bannon's estate of his guardainship of Joseph Smith's orphans and divide the estate. (October Court 1789-26 Oct 1789 Edward Digges is my mother's line. Just reinforces my belief ... 2. Lynn Hopewell's book "Black Horse Cavalry" is available at the Warrenton, Bealeton, and Marshall branch libraries in Fauquier County. I believe the book is library use only, it can be found in the Virginiana Collection section. 1. Re: Reversion of estate
    2. Probably the most appropriate explanation from Black's Law Dictionary is this one: A reversionary interest is the same as a remainder interest except that in the latter case the property passes to someone other than the original owner upon the expiration of the intervening interest. The language from the deed quoted sounds as if it might be a quitclaim deed to settle a disputed estate. The original owner may have deeded the land "to my son John, for his lifetime, and then to his children." If John died without children, there may have been a dispute over who owns it -- for example, between John's wife and John's brother Paul. John and Paul's brother Frank may have deeded the property to Paul, just to make clear that he didn't claim the reversion.

    3. Hi! Is there anything on the Gregg family, as I am trying to decipher which Gregg it is that applied for burial costs to be paid for George Bigby Sinclair, Sr. The Initials appear to be H. U. but I cannot be certain that that is what they are. He applied in 1882---George had died in 1880. Thank you for any suggestions or data that might help me figure out who he is.
