    3. I used to have the book on CD from Family Tree Maker but the CD broke. The book is made up of birth, marriage, and death's abstracted from the Society of Friends church records. It will give you the name, event and dates but you will have to search through the microfilmed copies of the handwritten records to find the actual information if you want it. It is a very useful book as it has a majority of the early records for most quaker meetings in the State in one place. The CD has six or seven large volumes covering several states from New York to North Carolina, all searchable by name. As Quakers kept good records and tended to mary others of the same faith, once you find a Quaker ancestor, this CD can be a gold mine. Every Morman Family History Center has a copy of the entire set of books on microfisch. They also can get microfilmed copies of most of the original record books. I have not thought about the search in Connecticut until I read your email. 2. Hello, I wonder if two siblings' names ring a bell: Rhoda C. Ferguson, born August 1849 William E. Ferguson, born 1845. According to the 1870 and 1860 census returns, they were born in Virginia to the father born in Massachusetts and to the mother born in Virginia. Rhoda C. Ferguson married to Richard Edward Brydon in about 1860. They lived in Allegheny Co (now Garrett Co., Maryland. Before 1870, they moved to Baltimore City, Balto Co., Maryland and had three sons and three daughters. Living with them was Rhoda's bachelor brother William E. Ferguson, a commissioner in Baltimore. Richard E. Brydon and his brother William Alfred Brydon were born in Rome, New York, and lived in New Orleans, Louisiana, before settling in Maryland in or before 1860. The name "Rhoda" Ferguson was not common in Virginia in 1800s, but it is still hard for me to find her in VA's 1850 census. Maybe she was born in VA and moved to another state. Meaning I have to search for her in each state. Maybe in Massachusetts for a while where her father's parents lived. But, on the other hand, this list has been very slow the last few months. As your posting has gotten posted, it is not an equipment failure, just a slow list..... John Towles Morris --------- John and others: This List and all of the others which are on Lists 5 have been completely down for almost a week. I was told that the Lists 5 lists are among those who usually generate more mail than the other lists do. That's why I have had almost no mail at all now since Lists 5 went down. It is coming back now, but coming slowly. The best way to keep up with what's going on is to go to Rootsweb.com and click on "Contacting the Help Desk" under "HELP". They post what is happening there. Velma
