    3. Awhile back a nice lady posted abstracted information from the Wills for Charles Jones and his wife Ann (Childs) Jones. His will was proved on December 24, 1849, Fauquier Co., Will Book 22. I have since ordered the Will of Charles Jones but do not have Ann's. I have cut and pasted emails so many times that I've lost the contact who posted these originally. Would anyone have the Will for Ann Jones? Think she died after Charles Jones? (Fauquier, Co.) Thank you, Amanda

    2. Shirley & Robert, I've been reading with interest about your CARRS. My interests in Fauquier Co. also migrated to Jackson Co., Al., some of them by way of Franklin Co., Tn. I am speaking of my EUSTACE family. But I also have HUNTERS and BERRYS in Jackson Co., Al. and over into Tn. My James HUNTER was born 5 Jan 1806 in Ky. (I think this is what the Census said). I do not know who his parents were, but somewhere I saw that they were Andrew HUNTER and Sarah CARR. Do any of these names sound familiar? I am wondering if James HUNTER'S parents went from Va. to Ky. and then on to Jackson Co., Al. Velma **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance. 1. [VAFAUQUI] Holder family--Shirley Antrim
    2. Robert Schneider
    3. Hi Shirley! Sorry I took so long to get back. I found a deed in Jackson County, AL for a Holder. Vol. G, page 214, James Kelso sells to Joshua Holder, May 19, 1856. Not much else. In regard to the Carr family, it's interesting to find out that your research on the Carrs shows that they were involved in Indian fights. That certainly is an intuitive tie between my family and yours. As far as Smauel Carr, b. 1803, is concerned, I have a question. Do you know where he was born? My 4th gr grandfather reported birth in SC. I don't know the specific county. I suspect it was on the Georgia border, possibly the Oconee area. Was your family ever in South Carolina? My line of Carrs had a close connection with a Keith family. Where there was a Keith, there was a Carr. I have traced the Keiths from VA to GA, then to AL. I suspect that my Carrs went from VA, to GA to SC, then to Alabama. We'll see what happens and I'll definitely keep you informed. Robert Schneider Hello Robert - We have corresponded before and it appears you are having better luck than am I. I strongly suspect your John Carr was a brother to my Samuel Carr, b 1803, and son of George Carr who was b in 1746 New Jersey to Walter Carr. George accompanied by Samuel Carr traveled from the Franklin Co., TN area to Illinois in the 1810-1820 time period and spent a bit of time with a brother of George's, James Carr, before moving on to Franklin Co., MO then Morgan Co., MO (where George died in 1835/36). Samuel took his family (married a daughter, Mary, of Augustin Sims in Illinois) to Lawrence Co., MO and finally settled in Dade Co., MO about 1845. This Carr family seem to have all been Indian fighters and wanderers. My connection to Fauquier is a perfect match on DNA with two ladies who have a proven paper trail to LUKE HOLDER b abt 1725. Luke was the Father of Capt/Col John Holder who was known for his assistance to Daniel Boone in the beginning of Fort Boonesboro, KY and as an Indian Fighter. However, my paper trail does not go to Luke but must belong with a brother of Luke. We have several names of Holders in the Fauquier/Loudon counties born in the 1710-1720 time period who we think are brothers, but can't seem to connect together for lack of their Father's name. They are DAVIS HOLDER, JOSEPH HOLDER AND WILLIAM HOLDER. Known descendants of William and I share a close DNA connection, but my 3rd G Grandfather, Solomon Holder, b 1769 does not appear to be a son of William. We don't have a DNA sample from the Davis group, but they have their family documented and Solomon doesn't seem to belong to them either. Therefore I'm pointing at Joseph. I know he didn't stay long in Fauquier, (married a daughter of James Cox in Orange Co., VA about 1735according to the Cox Will), then migrated on to Johnston Co., NC and Surry Co., NC. I'm hoping someone in Fauquier/Loudon/Prince William can help with the beginnings of this family. Keep me posted on your findings about your Carrs. I'm sure we can count each other a cousin. 1. [VAFAUQUI] Contacting Wildlife Management in Sumerduck about old family lands, etc.
    2. Amanda E. Douglass
    3. Just wanted to provide a little feedback concerning the suggestion that Estelle shared about contacting Wildlife Management office to maybe find where my old McConchie family lived in Sumerduck. Estelle was luckier than I in that regard. I phoned the Chester Philips Wildlife Management office and spoke to gentleman that said no one would know where old family parcels of land would be. I explained to him the wonderful luck another lady had and he wanted to refer me to Fredericksburg office for further assistance. So I guess that's a dead end. But I wanted to share below exchange between myself and cousin Artie's because his idea turned out to be a good one! This might be something that someone might want to try if you are trying to find land of old descendants. Amanda -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If you do call those Wildlife folks ask them about the McConchie family plot shown on Rogers Ford Road at Sumerduck.I was thinking that it might be a law to register family burial sites. Anyway, I found and printed 24 property owners along Rogers Ford Rd from the tax records. I'm sending them all a letter, with a portion of the map showing the McConchie plot, and begging for info. If it's there, someone must know." Then below was reponse to all that....(what a gem of a lady!) "Amanda - Two people have responded to my letters. One nice lady just called and said she was "pretty sure" the McConchie Graveyard was still there and said she would try and pin it down and call me back. I looked up the property she mentioned and it's 76 acres! Looking at the map, I had originally thought to just drive down the road and the family plot would be in someone's back yard. Actually, being on a large parcel is more promising as it's less likely to have been destroyed by development."

He had an aunt who was Anne and a daughter who was named Ann. Three generations of EUSTACES had Anns/Annes. There is a marriage record for Ann EUSTACE and William JONES - Dec. 14, 1780 - Bondsman: Isaac EUSTACE. I'm guessing this Ann was his daughter. I'm sorry, I know nothing at all about William JONES. I think some others on the list are researching the JONESES. I have quite a bit of EUSTACE info, if you need help with it. Velma **************It's Tax Time! 3. I want to thank Estelle for sharing all that wonderful information about Lucinda Gordon Jones Green and the information about Betty C. Jones family home of Ellwood. I've heard back from Vicky at Warrenton Library concerning records for LEWIS ELLIS. >From his will, it reveals that Charles A. Jones was the "C.A. JONES" witness on the Will of Tabitha A. Waugh. (Many of below records provided by June.) Amanda -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lewis Ellis: --Will, recorded August 1869. The only people mentioned by name are nephew James Ellis, son of deceased brother Robert Ellis; nephew Robert L. Martin. Witnesses were Henry F. Jones, Charles A. Jones, Jno. Crittenden, and Isaac S. Living next door to Tabitha A. Waugh on the 1860 census was "Harry Jones" and June figured out that he had to have been Henry F. Jones married to Elizabeth Adams. He had son named "Charles" so this fits perfectly. My Charles Jones in his will only named a brother JOHN JONES and mentioned that Tabitha A. Waugh was to get the house now occupied by LEWIS JONES. This would be Henry F. Jones 1860 Fauquier Co Census Harry Jones age 78 Elizabeth 38 daughter Sarah 27 daughter Charles 24 son (This would be the "C.A. Jones" witness on Will of Tabitha.) He might connect to AMBROSE HORD? Nichcolas Fallis m. ? Noah Jones? This indenture made this 10th day of October 1825 between MARGARET JONES widow of JOHN JONES and THOMAS JONES, EDWARD JONES AND ELIZA JONES, Children and heirs of the said JOHN JONES of County of Stafford of the one part and GEORGE JONES of the same of the other part; Witnesseth that the said MARGARET JONES, THOMAS JONES, EDWARD JONES and ELIZA for the sum of Three hundred dollars have granted unto the said GEORGE JONES his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land in the said County of Stafford containing about 87 1/2 acres, being the same land which was conveyed by Deed duly recorded in the County Court of Sattford by EVAN JONES to his Son, JNO. Jones and descended from the said JNO JONES to the said MARGARET JONES his widow and the said THOMAS JONES, EDWARD JONES AND ELIZA JONES as is the same on which the said MARGARET now resides; To have and to hold unto the said GEORGE JONES his heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons and shall warrant and defend by these ! presents; In Testimony whereof the said MARGARET JONES, THOMAS JONES, EDWARD JONES and ELIZA JONES have set their hands and seals Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of JAS. M. HORD MARGARET X JONES NOAH JONES THOMAS X JONES NICHOLAS J. FALLIS EDWARD X JONES ELIZA X JONES (Anybody know Noah Jones?) Heirs of Aldridge James m. Elizabeth Cropp. The children and heirs at law of Aldridge James decd. This was taken from record of Military Records, Pension Applications, Heirs At Law And Civil War Military Records From The Fauquier County, Virginia, Court Minute Books, 1840-1904, compiled by Joan W. Peters, stated that on April 1, 1859, at Fauquier County, Virginia, Minute Book 1857-1859/259 the following court certification was filed: "The Court certifies that it was established to its satisfaction today by competent and credible evidence adduced before it in open Court that Captain James Wright of the Virginia Continental Line died intestate about 1812, leaving his daughter Elizabeth James, wife of John James, as his only heir at law. The children and heirs at law of Aldridge James decd. are 1) Elizabeth Hord, wife of Dr. Ambrose Hord; 2) Edwin D. James, 3) Sarah E. James, 4) Susan K. James, 5) Waverly James, 6) Duncan James and 7) David James. All are adults and live in Fauquier County, Virginia. William Smith I think below John Cropp could be related to Elizabeth Cropp that married Aldridge James. Then maybe the FNU GORDON connects to Betty Ellis & Nathaniel Gordon's line? Death abated Jan. 1820 as to Job Fallis by his death - he died intestate and without issue Deed of Mortgage Job Fallis to William Skinker Jr. - Fauquier Co. - 1810 Defendant William Gibson (sheriff - admr. of Job Fallis decd.); John Fallis; Thomas Fallis; Thomas Grigg; Jane Grigg; Rachael Gordon; Richard Fallis; Mary Fallis; George Fallis; Eliza Fallis; Lucy Fallis; Nicholas Fallis (infant); Daniel Fallis (infant); Fanny Fallis (infant); James Fallis (infant) Family Harriet Skinker, wife of William Skinker Jr. Family Mary Fallis, widow of Thomas Fallis Family George Fallis, Eliza Fallis, Lucy Fallis, Nicholas Fallis, Daniel Fallis, Fanny Fallis & James Fallis, children of Thomas Fallis Family John Fallis, Thomas Fallis, Jane Grigg (nee Jane Fallis), Rachael Gordon (nee Rachael Fallis) & Richard Fallis, siblings of Job Fallis Locality Fauquier Co.; Stafford Co.; Frederick Co.; Prince William Co.; OH Marriage Joseph Reid -mr- Lucy Fallis, daughter of Thomas Fallis. llis Marriage John Cropp -mr- Eliza Fallis, daughter of Thomas Fallis Marriage FNU Gordon -mr- Rachael Fallis Marriage Thomas Grigg -mr- Jane Fallis Miller Mr. Shaw, miller for Job Fallis Plaintiff William Skinker Jr.

    3. I want to thank Estelle for sharing all that wonderful information about Lucinda Gordon Jones Green and the information about Betty C. Jones and her home of Ellwood. I've heard back from Vicky at Warrenton Library concerning records for LEWIS ELLIS. >From his will, Lewis Ellis connects solidly to my lines. His will has also revealed who the "C.A. JONES" witness was on the Will of Tabitha A. Waugh. Amanda -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lewis Ellis: --Will, recorded August 1869. The only people mentioned by name are nephew James Ellis, son of deceased brother Robert Ellis; nephew Robert L. Martin. Witnesses were Henry F. Jones, Charles A. Jones, Jno. Crittenden, and Isaac S. Stone. --Adm Account, November 1871 --Adm Account, December 1872 --Adm Account, October 1873 --Admx Account, November 1874 --Admx Account, October1875 Living next door to Tabitha A. 1860 Fauquier Co Census Harry Jones age 78 (Henry F. Jones) Elizabeth 38 daughter Sarah 27 daughter Charles 24 son Three of his 6 children living with him. This family above I am sure is this one: Henry aka: Harry Henry F. Jones Sr. born 1783 he married 1/12/1811 Elizabeth Ann Adams B:1794 d/o William & Nancy Then three houses down from Harry Jones was: Thomas E. Jones age 28 (I think this Frances E. was a FLETCHER?) Frances E. age 29 James H. age 3 I'm thinking that since Charles Jones named Tabitha A. Waugh as his niece, I think the JONES living around Tabitha A. Waugh could connect somehow to Charles Jones especially since "Harry" named a son Charles? Thomas E. Jones could be below THOMAS JONES? This doesn't mention a Charles Jones but had name "THOMAS" Jones and "ELIZA" Jones and they are children of JOHN JONES. My Charles Jones did name a brother JOHN JONES. James M. Hord m. ?
