I have posted before that my 9th great grandparents are Edwin Conway, Sr and Martha Eltonhead. I descend from their daughter Eltonhead Conway that married Henry Thacker, Sr. Upon more investigation and finding more records I want to post two corrections as to my previous postings. i. The death date of Edwin Conway, SR. is 1660/61 instead of Sep 1678 like Hayden had in the Glassell book. (Source: Va Col. Abstracts--Lancaster County. p. 11) Lancaster Court Session 14 March 1660/61. Minute Bk. p. 141. Com. of Administration on the Est. of Mr. Edwin Connoway dec' to Henry Corbyn. Alice Eltonhead, sister to my 9th great grandmother Martha Eltonhead, married Henry Corbin . Another sister, Eleanor Eltonhead married Col. John Carter. The other record I want to correct is found in the" Prayer Book of Thomas Carter" This is the birth of Edward Carter: Birth: Edward ye eldest Sonne of Tho. and Kath Carter was born y 9 April 1671 of Sunday at 8 0'clock in ye Morn and was bap on Sunday the 30 M. John Carter, M. Edwin Conaway, and M. Edw.: Dale, Gdfather and M. Diana Dale and M. Lettys Corbyn, Gdmother. The Edwin Conway that is Godfather of Edward Carter is Edwin Conway, JR the son of Edwin Conway, SR and Martha Eltonhead, not Edwin SR. Lettye (Letitica) Corbyn later married Richard Lee. Diana Dale is Diana Skipwith who married Edward Dale. My previous postings are made under mdillow31 until my email address was changed. Hope this is a benefit to anyone else.descending from these families Marianne Dillow Illinois

Hi Listers, I do lookups for obituaries and special newspaper articles. Please email me direct mytree22@q.com<about:blank> Thank you, Michelle
The librarian is referring to a USB port that is on your computer. My laptop has 3. You would take a memory stick, which is pretty much available everywhere you shop, and depending on how much memory you want it to have they are pretty inexpensive. You'd take your memory stick with you to the library and put it into the USB port on their computer and then save the picture you want from the microfilm onto your memory stick and then take it back home put it into your USB port and you could open the picture you saved at the library on it. I use my USB ports for memory sticks, my mouse, my husband charges his iPod and I also use it to download my pictures from my camera on it. Hope this helps. Sandra Gibby0111@att.net
Hi Jan, Yes, you do have to download it to a USB and then transfer it to your computer or email each image. And it is one image at a time. Each image is fairly large in byte size. And, she is saying that if you print the image, instead of downloading it will cost you. Since the librarian only mentioned the printer copies costing you, I would suppose that the reader/printer that downloads would not cost. We used a 2 gig thumb drive and it held quite a few images. A USB is a special plug. You use it with a lot of electronic devices.
Sue and Bill, I contacted our County Library here in Edinburg, VA (Shenandoah County). I wanted to know if they offered the same as Fauquier Co. Following paragraph is the reply I received. I don't know that much about a USB, but it isn't clear to me if this is free if you download it to a USB. Is there something more specific I should ask? Thank you, Jan in Woodstock VA We do have a new microfilm reader/printer that lets one copy to a USB or email to yourself one image at a time, not the whole film. Could that be what they meant? It is a fine machine but takes some getting used to. Patrons either love it or hate it. We still have the old reader available. Copies from the new one (in house) are only a dime instead of 50 cents as on the old one. >I can tell you all that, this is a super library with lots of information on Fauquier Co. Lemuel and Ann Petty are buried in Morrisville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Petty, Ann E. b. 1829 - d. 1913 Petty, Lemuel b. 1827 - d. 1902 You can find this information on findagrave.com. You can also submit a tombstone photo request and someone is likely to respond and take photos for you. By the way, Morrisville is near Goldvein at the southern end of Fauquier County.
Hello fellow researchers. I am new to this list. I'm hoping to find the whereabouts of my ancestor Vincent Petty. Apparently he moved from Prince William County to Fauquier County sometime between 1870 and 1880 according to the U.S. Census'. In 1880, Vincent was listed in the household of his son, Lemuel Petty, in the 48th Census District (Rappahannock), Fauquier County. Vincent was 81 at the time. I can find no other information on Vincent, to include in Prince William County after 1880. I'm hoping to determine whether Vincent Petty died in Fauquier County, and where he is buried. Lemuel and family was still present in Fauquier County in 1900. Of course I'd love to found out more about Lemuel and family and any other relations. Please reply if you can help. Thanks. ---Larry

Thanks for the recap. I have this information but it is helpful to see it all pulled together in such a concise way. Just to flesh out the info in case anyone else is researching these folks, Armistead Taylor's first wife is Elizabeth Grant. She was married previously to a Yates and the 10 year old boy William Yates is her son. Elizabeth Grant Yates Taylor died abt 1862. Armistead Taylor then married Cordelia Elizabeth Swarts (Swartz) in 1864. -----Original Message----- From: vafauqui-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:vafauqui-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of cpzb4@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, January 13, 2010 3:06 PM To: vafauqui@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [VAFAUQUI] Gray and Taylor Not searching this family but have the following info on them: Jesse Gray & Roda Browne Marriage Bond: 3/23/1818 Bdsman: daughter of Frances Thaddeus Fauquier Co, VA John C.
