When I saw your name, I recognized it from the family tree that was given out in 1989 at one of the reunions with a copy of the Ramey will. I have discovered the Afro-American Historical Assoc in The Plains, been to the museum and seen Easter's and other family members photos there and on their website. I am related because Easter's daughter Edmonia is my great grandmother, her daughter Irie who married Lewis Brown was my grandmother, and her daughter Ressie Mae was my mother. I have a copy of the birth register of Adelaide and on it she was originally named Roberta Adela -if you would like a copy I would be happy to send it - if you have neverr seen it. I found out Easter had a son between Edmonia and Adelaid named John Thomas, he must have died young. At that time of Easter's life she was a slave of the Blackwell-Saunders family (with whom she had been since a child of 8) in Keysville in Rappahannock. Like I said I have been busy performing research using Rapp and Fauquier county records. I found out Easter Nelson lived until 1931 she almost made it to 100 years old! I have a copy of her death certificate. So good to hear from someone that is part of the famliy. By the way do you know if the reunion that is usually held in August is happening this year?
