John Hurst., Jr., Daniel Summers, d. 1799 Mrs. Deskins Mrs. Pratt Mrs. Leister Mrs. Ballenger Francis Summers, b. 2 Mrs. 1732, d. 14 Oct 1800 Most info to date has stated that he married Mrs. Blake, Widow Blake or Elizabeth Blake, and unfortunately this has been repeated and copied as a fact. However, in his own deposition he states that he married the widow of Henry Lucas. John Summers, Henry Lucas, Robert Blake and sons, John and Benjamin Blake, all were tenants of John West and mentioned in his will. John West made a bequest to a Seith Lucas in his will. In jStafford County Deed Book J, Page 36, John Summers, his wife Seth, and son John leased land in 1722 from Thomas Harrison for three lives. The Prince william County Order Book 1754-55, 24 Mar. 1754, has an Administration of John Farrow, dec. granted to John Summers and Elizabeth, his wife. I believe that she may have been Elizabeth Blake, the daughter of Robert Blake, who married first Henry Lucas and then upon his death,m John Summers....This probably doesn't help...From yearbook...Fairfax 1997-98..131 Jodi -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of gu6225@earthlink.net Sent: Wednesday, November 30, 2005 5:52 PM To: VAFAIRFA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [VAFairfax] Re: Children of "old John Summers" This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Do you have marriage record for Old John's 1723 marriage to Mary Blake? My ancestor, George Somers, son of old John was born circa 1720, which would make him the son of Sythia Lucas, according to your records. Perhaps he was Sythia's son, but she died and he was reared by Mary Blake. That sounds like a good scenario. I do not have any copies of marriage bonds, etc...would appreciate copies of yours, for which I would happily pay you. Please let me know via this board or by my personal e-mail address. My ancestor, George, left Fairfax county for Caswell county, N.C., along with his daughter's family, the Landmans (Lanman). This is a fascinating family to study, one of my favorites. ==== VAFAIRFA Mailing List ==== E-mail List Mom at mailto:daisysroots@yahoo.com http://www.rootsweb.com/~vafairfa/ ============================== Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records.
