John Fairfax and Mary "Mollie" Byrne. Col John Fairfax was the Superintendent of Washington's Mt.Vernon estate. He left Prince William County and went to Preston County about 1790. He was Justice, Sheriff and Colonel of the Militia as well as represented Preston in the Virginia Legislature. His son, Buckner was born March 30, 1798. Buckner also represented Preston in the Virginia House of Delegates for many years. He was General of the 10th Brigade, 3rd Division Virginia Militia. He married Rebecca Parsons of Romney, VA on March 30, 1828. He died March 30, 1880 at Cranberry Summit, W.Va.. (Yes it all happend on March 30ths). Buckner's siblings with Mary Byrne were: George William Fairfax William Fairfax John Fairfax, Jr. Mary Byrne Fairfax After Mary Byrne Fairfax died, John Fairfax married Anne Franklin. Buckners half-siblings were Frances B.F. Fairfax Elizabeth Loid Fairfax (Betsey) George Washington Fairfax Chloe Ann Fairfax His half brother, Frances B.F. Fairfax was the mother of Harriet Virginia Caroline Fairfax (my great grandmother). She married Charles Mercer Brown (my great grandfather) Our connection: we share the same great, great great grandfather (Col John Fairfax) Hope this helps!
