There are some YahooGroups lists for just historical information about places. I belong to one about Montana, but not for genealogy. I am involved in an old West roleplay/collaborative game and use the information for the time period. Besides being interested in Virginia in general, I also use this list for a Civil War roleplay game, but am certainly not offended by discussions of family names no matter whose they are.
