    1. Re: Slaves of Thomas Cooksey
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SBC.2ACI/117.1 Message Board Post: My ancestor , Thomas Barron sold 12 salves to Henry Cooksey for 400 L in 1790 in Charles County, MD. The deed recorded the slaves as: Hector, Ceasar, Moses, Issac, Aaron, Dick, Henny, Nancy, Luce, Nan, Nelly, Gustavous and Charity. In 1791 and 1992 Jesse Barron and brother Hendley, both of Charles Co., MD. move to Prince William County, Va (next door to Fauquier) along with their two slaves, one Hector and one Joe. Both from his father, Thomas. In the Maryland Historical Society in Baltimore are a number of books on the Cooksey Family in Maryland. Barron's and Cookseys moved to Virginia after the Revolution including their slaves. Lots of Luck
