(An Ives married a Pearson at some point, I believe). It was also owned at the end by the Loewen Group, which is one of the largest funeral home chain owners and is headquartered in Canada. I don't know if the Loewen Group would be able to provide information on the disposition of the records. They also had all of the records from the old Ives Funeral Home (which was on Wilson Blvd. in Arlington) there as well. I had to plan the funeral of a cousin who died suddenly in 2001 and used Ives-Pearson. His parents had both been buried from Ives on Wilson Blvd., he'd expressed a preference for Ives, and I opted to use Ives-Pearson when I found out that Ives on Wilson Blvd. closed in 1998. When I arrived to meet with the funeral direction they'd pulled the files for both of his parents from out of the old Ives records, knew what hymns had been played at their funerals, and wanted to know if I wanted the same hymns. So, I know they had tons of old records in the building when it closed. They pulled some other family members who'd been buried out of Ives for me as well. The Loewen Group filed for bankruptcy, and I think that the closing of both locations (the old Ives on Wilson Blvd. and the old Pearson on Lee Highway in Falls Church) was related to that.
