Supposedly John, William, Mary Polly, and Nancy McCrocklin were born in Fairfax Co. I've been told that the 1782 and 1785 Fairfax Tax records lists the father, Jesse McCrocklin ... his wife's name remains a mystery. In addition, it has been said that there is a birth record of "John McCrocklin" in Fairfax Co. Last name variations include: McLaughlin, McLoughlin, McLachlin, MaLauchian, and McLachlan.
