Zone Alarm is free for non-profit users. Only for profit organizations must buy a license after 60 days. I have had it for a year and never paid a cent. I up-graded to the newest version the other day with no problem. They do have an upgraded version which I have not purchased. I felt the free one has taken care of my needs. Below is what I copied from their site. * ZoneAlarm is free for individual and not-for-profit charitable entity use (excluding governmental entities and educational institutions). For-profit business entities, governmental entities, or educational institutions, your license will be free for an introductory sixty (60) day period but you must purchase a valid end-user license after 60 days in order to continue using the software -----Original Message----- From: Tosca K. This is where I will put in a plug for Netscape in lieu of MSIE/Outlook Express... Netscape tells me so much about each email when it comes in without having to click on something else to see what size, from what address, etc. It also has not added any othe attachments that are coming with these 40KB emails that are being sent out. I gather that most of the trojans and viruses affect Outlook Express rather than Netscape Messenger emails from what I have read. I did have the misfortune of getting the BadTrans virus about 6 months ago, and since I use Win 95 I check constantly to make certain Ido not get it back. My husband uses Outlook Express but does not subscribe to lists. He has not had any virus problems in 4 years, but I absolutely hate to get into his email program to do anything. I am so used to seeing everything about an email when I receive one through Netscape, and all you get from O E is who sent it to you, unless you go elsewhere to look for that info. Enough of my soapbox on this score. Thank you again Janice and Ruth. Janice, I did see where the free program is only good for sixty days and then you pay. It is typical of so much of the shareware and free software. ==== VAFAIRFA Mailing List ==== E-mail List Mom at mailto:[email protected] http://www.rootsweb.com/~vafairfa/ ============================== Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 Source for Family History Online.
