    1. Help With Military Records
    2. This is my first attempt to locate military records for my husband's great-grandfather John F. Saunders of Fairfax County, VA. I do know from his orbit that he serviced in the Confederate Army. Also, I found a pension record for his wife Saunders, Georgia A., Fairfax, Act of 1928, Memo. 4-26-28, $100.00. The pension record was found online. Also, in the Fairfax County paper, dated May 8, 1889, list the Roll of Co. G, Eighth Regiment Virginia Infantry, Organized at Dranesville, and Mustered into the Confederate Service at Centerville, July 16, 1861. There is a Sanders, J.F. listed is a private. However, I'm not certain if this is the correct Saunders/Sanders. I do know that both spellings of the name were used in his family, but the pension record has the spelling of Saunders. How do I go about getting copies of his military records and the pension records? Is it possible to have someone research this for me? Any help would be appreciated. Kathie Saunders
