This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Summers, Williams, "Muse Carter Thorn Wilson" Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SBC.2ACI/109.113.115.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Would "Old" John Summers, who lived to be at least 114 years old, who was born July 12, 1706 (as recorded in Kentucky Gazette, info posted on this board) and died probably in Morgan County, Indiana be one of the children of John Summers born 1686 you are mentioning in your post? This John Summers is shown on the Delaware County, Indiana 1820 census, and the census taker made a notation: "This man is 114 years old never lost sight or hearing has upward of four hundred descendants and has had two wives by each has ten children" I believe this "Old" John Summers born 1706 to be the father of John Summers born 1764 in Prince William County, Va. who married Agnes Bell. His grandchildren made statements that their grandfather lived to be 114-119 years old (depending on which account you read). How many John Summers were there that lived to be this old? Both of these John Summers men lived at one time in Montgomery County, Ky. and I believe one of them was the Elder of Lulbegrud Baptist Church which was formed in Clark County, Kentucky in 1793 (later Montgomery Co.) Also one of them I believe was the man my ancestor Edward Williams sold land to in Clark County in 1794. I am trying to connect the John Summers born 1706 to the Chopawamsic Baptist Church Stafford County, Va. in 1767. On the list of members is whom I believe to be my ancestor Edward Williams and wife Jemimah Williams and also shown is a John Summers and an Elizabeth Summers who joined the same day. I believe the John Summers listed there at Chopawamsic Baptist Church to be the husband of Elizabeth Carter Summers, daughter of a Sarah Muse Carter Thorn Wilson (she was either born a Muse or married a Muse first time). Other son-in-laws of Sarah's are there and also another daughter, plus extended family members of one son-in-law. Any help identifying the John Summers at Lulbegrud Baptist Church or Chopawamsic would be appreciated.
