A note in our family records say that he had a colored man called Abraham who died at the home of Sarah Cotner in 1879 . He was about 80 years old and he is buried in the Cotner Cemetery in Dent Co., Mo. He probably came from Va with them and stayed with their daughter Sarah after the death of her parents. The Watsons that were intermarried with my Cooksey family also brought slaves to Mo. One a young girl born 1822 in MD died about 1894 or 5. Her name was Jane but she went by "Jennie". She is buried in my family cemetery, the Cooksey Cemetery. her Husband, I dont know his name, is buried in the pinto cemetery. They had a son Zarr that was taken by the same bushwhackers that killed my gggrandfather and presumabely killed also. Jenny was a tall slender woman and only had one tooth left when she died. She was willed to my great grandfatgwe George W. Cooksey and all of Leonard B Watsons land a! t his death, to care for Jennie. When she was freed she wouldnt leave the George Cooksey family. I heard about Jenny from my grandfather Christopher Cooksey who Jenny helped raise. He was about 11 ir 12 when jenny was laid to rest.. Her son would have been about the sane age as George. I dont know if this will help you, but maybe it will . good luck with finding your ancastors. Marie
