Dear Barton, I'm sorry I don't have either a Nellie Robey or a Gass. Have you tried the following: Are you aware of the Robey, Roby, Robie website and the Robey reunion? The web site address is: http://www.geocities.com/robyfamily/ The reunion in Salt Lake City is not until August of this year. The next reunion will be in 2004, but the time and place will not be set until this year in Salt Lake City. The Robey book by William Grafton Robey, Jr. has been upgraded onto a CD and the web site will tell you how to order one, and the cost. Deborah in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, USA
Dear Margo, All this is amazing isn't it? What a discussion this has set off. I wish these local lists did this more often as the English lists do. If the answers are sent to the list it stimulates more discussion. And this is proof of it. Now to Burrows, we don't have much. Burrows are a very perpheral collateral line for us. We have them marrying into lines that married into our lines here and there. The individuals listed below have their generation numbers on the left. I don't have either of your Burrows but I do have a John S. Paxton but not who he married. Perhaps they are one and the same John Paxton? What do you think? The John S. Paxton 1814 in our database is descended as follows: 1. Samuel Paxton & Mary Ferguson 2. Wm. Paxton 1763 & Ruth Selman 1784-1850. 3. John S. Paxton 1814 The Burrows we do have are as follows: 1. ? unknown Burrows died bef 1910 + Laura Riley abt 1862 I have 4 generations of Riley's before her 2. Frank 2. Eva 2. Hello, Reviewing Beth Mitchell's map 1760 and booklet 1760 - "Fairfax County, Va in 1760 - An interpretive Historical Map... I find the following information on a Thomas MONK and John MONK - as they owned a large piece of land near the Fairfax/Loudon County line. John Monk had a tenant leaseholder Samson Turley, and Thomas Monk had as a leaseholder William Burkley and Paul Turley. I find very little information on the name MONK and hoping someone can add more. So far I find an Elizabeth MONK b. 1697 circa who married a John Waugh , said daughter of a James Monk. Will be grateful if someone can add information about John and Thomas MONK - wives, etc. This land is the proximate area where my ancestors originated, and suspect a connection here somewhere. Thanks, Anne researching Lewis Samuel Pritchartt who lived and died on Johnnymore Creek/Run 1748- 1802 - husband to Frances Mason (ancestry unknown to date)

Dear Chuck, Thank you for replying. No, I have never heard of Richard T. Robey or his wife Sarah E. Scott. The Robey's who married into our family were from Merryfield, Fairfax, VA and had many children. I would be happy to discuss and share our Robey information with you if you would share yours. The first Robey to appear in our database is Elisha & his unknown wife who had ten children: James born 1787, John, Charles, William, Wheeler, Hesekiah, Millie, and three unknown to us. James is the only one we have further information about. James married Mary Frances unknown and had six children. Descendants of this Robey family were residents of Fairfax County, VA and some came to Washington, DC circa 1893 where they settled in upper NW. I have been told that the area they settled was even called Robeyville at one point. If you are interested in exchanging information about Robey's please contact me on or off list. To all my dear friends, Some of your are family, some are family, and some of you are valued genealogy friends; due to difficulty with AOL (who doesn't seem to care about the peons that helped to make them grow to be the monster they are today) we are severing our account with America Online. You may contact me at [email protected] in the future. This change is to take effect immediately. Thank you for being my friends, I love you all and most of all GOD loves you. Stevan

Hello Everyone; As most of you are aware the question of genealogical frauds and hoaxes must be of concern since to genealogists and researchers since so much information out there is quite questionable. We have several pages on our web sites that will be of great help to you in understanding what the problems are. We have updated one of the pages in our Fraudulent Lineages area. The page in question is titled; BEWARE OF THE SOURCE HOAX Many of you are quite aware of some of some of the ways frauds and hoaxes are committed and some of you may need to visit your lines to see if possibly they may contain some of the situations we report on. The URL for this page is; http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/fraud/hoax.htm There are many other pages listed within this section and all may be viewed freely by everyone. The very best to you and yours. Harold Oliver America's First Families
