VA, so I can get a lot of film ordered from State of VA library here to the public library in Fairfax, VA. I have some Fredericksburg, VA wills etc......already on order. I have a double line of Richards from the same John D. Richards. 1. John D. Richards born c1760 died in 1847 in Tuscaloosa, AL. I do not know the name of his wife. I descend from his son and daughter. 2. Thompson H. Richard b. c1795 VA died c1849 in Fauquier Co. VA married in Frederick Co. VA to Jane Fleming. I have a copy of their marriage record. Their daughter married her first cousin. 3. Sophia Ann Richards b. 1827 VA died c1866 Jeffersonton, Culpeper Co. VA. married her first cousin Bushrod P. Edwards. He was the son of Wm. & Maria (Richards) Edwards. Said Maria was the daughter of John D. Richards. 4. Mary Ella Edwards b. 1851 Fauquier Co. VA, d. 1934 DC married John Washington Ball. .................................................................................... Humphrey Richards born c1730 in King & Queen Co. VA, married Frances Baylor. Not sure the year that he died. According to the index of land deeds for Fauquier Co. VA he was doing business in that county in 1810. A note from the book "Fauquier Families 1759-1799" by Alcock, he was the surving partner of John & Henry Richards. Record show he was the son of Wm. Byrd Richards & first wife name unknown. Humphrey's siblings: Mildred, Elizabeth, Frances, Sarah, Philip, Capt. Wm. & John Richards, his half brothers: Richard (no issue) and Gabriel Richards (removed to TN). ............................................................................ I know I will have to be patience and wait to see what more I can find in the earlier Fauquier Co. VA land deeds. It is through this source material I was able to prove a double line back to said John D. Richards. Thank you for any help you can give.
